Golden Anniversary in Old Town

As a gift to their parents for their 50th wedding anniversary, sisters Ali and Jen scheduled a Family Photography session with me in Old Town Alexandria. It is not too often that I get to photograph a couple that has been together for 50 years. To commemorate the special occasion, three generations were spending the weekend together in Old Town. I met up on with them on the Alexandria Waterfront in front of the Torpedo Factory, before their dinner reservation on Saturday night.

It was a gorgeous early Fall evening; warm, but not too hot, with a soft breeze blowing. Given the beautiful weather, there were a lot of other people out enjoying all that the Waterfront has to offer, but even with that, we were able to find some beautiful, unencumbered spots to shoot. 

I was so pleased that the happy couple was blessed with golden light on their golden anniversary. I wish them many more happy, healthy years together.
